One day “orientation on inclusive education” for headmasters, head teachers and teachers’ in-charges under EBRC Mokokchung on Thursday at EBRC Mokokchung Hall.
Addressing the gathering, District Education Officer (DEO) Mokokchung, Temjennaro lamented that Nagaland state lags behind in implementation of inclusive education to all students due to “sheer ignorance” and added that all should strive to impart inclusive education.
The DEO also admitted that “old system of teaching” has become inadequate to meet the needs of the students and that as teachers it was their duty to come up with necessary solution to meet the requirements of the students.
Temjennaro also stressed on the importance of sensitising the students and the community to meet the requirements of the students with special needs, so that they could thrive and grow along with their peers.
The introductory speech was said by AEO & Co-ordinator EBRC Mokokchung village, L Alemtemsu Ao (sponsor of the training) and the function was chaired by TOT C Wati Walling, while the resource persons were Sungjemmenla and Moatula.
